I. Introduction to the College

As the national demonstration higher vocational college with the qualification of cultivating the full-time undergraduate, Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College has been awarded as the advanced unit in college graduate employment work in Guangxi for seventeen consecutive years. The College was ranked the 38th (the 1st in Guangxi) in the 2017 Chinese junior college (higher vocational college) competitiveness ranking list.

The school owns 3 training bases supported by the central finance, 14 autonomous region demonstration training bases and 2 productive training bases with the equipment valuing tens of millions in Liuzhou City. The College has 1 famous teacher of the national level, 1 excellent teaching team of the national level and 4 famous teachers of the autonomous region.

At present, the College has more than 11,000 full-time higher vocational college students with 9 secondary colleges (departments) and more than 50 majors, among which, there are 6 key majors of the national demonstration college, 1 educational reform trial major of the national level, 1 excellent major of the autonomous region level, 14 high-quality majors of the autonomous region level, 9 characteristic majors of the autonomous region level and 2 projects of promoting the professional service industry development capacity of the higher vocational and technical school. The College has 6 national exquisite courses, 5 national exquisite resource sharing courses and 27 exquisite courses of the autonomous region level currently; the College owns 5 teaching achievement awards of the national level.

The college is the national urgently-required talent cultivation college for the automobile application and maintenance, one of the first batch of the national high-skilled talent cultivation training base (electromechanical project), the CNC technology training base supported and awarded by the central finance, the national urgently-required talent cultivation base for the automobile application and maintenance, the die and mould talent training base of China Die & Mould Industry Association and the national urgently-required skilled talent training base, etc.

The school proactively blends in the local industry chain and merges deeply with the enterprises such as ZTE, SGMW, Liugong, Dongfeng Liuzhou and so on. Its manufacturing majors have become the school’s advantageous brand majors and some of the majors have reached the first class level in China. The school promotes the informatization construction, implements the excellent performance management and boosts the connotation construction. The school introduces the advanced international standards, promotes the talent cultivation quality, serves the local industry upgrade, boosts the enterprises to go global and launches various international cooperative school-running projects, such as the Germany “dual system”, British modern apprenticeship system, Sino-Germany Automotive Vocational Education Electromechanical Cooperative Project (SGAVE) and so on. The school has the strong technological innovative ability with the patent application quantity ranking the first among the higher vocational colleges in the whole region. The school has taken the lead on Liuzhou vocational education, become the bellwether of Guangxi higher vocational education and established the higher vocational education brand.
